Time Change

Well it has been a couple of days since time changed. The hour we are missing on is kicking my tush! I hope my body gets regulated soon! I never thought that just a little hour would matter so much. I went and worked out yesterday. Tonight I will start the really hard stuff. I will do weights and all that. I am not ready for it. My body says, "go home and curl up in bed" but my mind says I need to stick with it. Mollie has a field trip tomorrow, I am excited for her. She, and the rest of the 4th grade, is going to Rose Hill. This is a one room school house. I think she is looking forward to it b/c it is something new but it will take them about 1 1/2 hours to get there. She is not looking forward to that part. I rented her a pioneer dress with bonnet and an apron. I am going to braid her hair too. I think she will look so cute! Well, better go for now! Have a great rest of the week!

It is Friday!

The girls are much better, thank goodness. I am so happy it is Friday. This week has gone by fast because I have been learning so new things at work. I have also started working out again. I realized that for me to be truly happy I needed to be healthy. I decided to take the step toward a healthier me!!!! I am proud of myself for doing it but at the same time I am upset that I let myself get back to where I was before I lost alot of weight a year and a half ago. I am also torn between working out after work and being at home with my family when I get off work. I know this will make me healthier and happier b/c I will get happy with myself but I feel like I am neglecting them b/c I am not home earlier...ahhh, the perils of being a mom! My husband is great about it b/c he has said that it is okay for me to be gone. I know my whole family will benefit b/c I will be happier and healthier. I want to be around for a long time!!! My girls are still sick!

Okay so, both the girls are still feeling yucky! Mollie is going on 7 days and Kylie is going on 6 days. Just a fever and yucky cough. I am ready for them to feel better, I am sure they are too! Mollie has missed 4 days and tomorrow will be 5 days. Kylie has missed 3 and tomorrow will be 4. Enough about them. Today the weather was nice. I wish I could have been at home and enjoyed it. I was in a major fog today for some reason but I am much better now! Maybe now later.

Sick Girls!!!!!!!

Okay so, Mollie came home on Thursday b/c of a fever. Then yesterday Kylie came home b/c of a fever. Now, they are both feeling crummy. Kylie has not gotten rid of her fever yet. Mollie's fever broke, thank goodness! She is feeling better than she was. Well, so much for an entertaining weekend. Well at least Kylie will be keeping me entertained with her being sick!!! And we have an excuse to take a couple hours worth of nap. Better go for now Cops, my favorite show, is on!

I became a Facebook person this week. I am not as impressed with it as I was with MySpace. Myspace has alot more graphics and honestly email is just as good as these other things. The good thing about it is that you can find someone you have been looking for or they can find you. Whether that is good I am not sure yet, I will wait to decide until someone finds me that I don't want to "find" me! My little miss Mollie is at home today because she is sick with body aches and a fever. It stinks b/c this is unusual for me to be at work while one of my girls is sick. I would not be surprised if little miss Kylie goes home early from school today. She woke up at about 4am and complained about her throat. But when I got her up for school today she was complaining about her body aching, her chest and throat. We will see, only time will tell. Oh well, I am a working mom and at least Kyle is home with her today. It is FRIDAY!!!! Thank goodness I have the weekend to help them get better. Have a great weekend!!!!!

It is Friday!!!!!!

It has been awhile! Things are good with my family and I. Tonight my girls get to do a few cheers at the high school basketball games. They are excited!! The pre-k through 2nd grade will cheer at half time of the girls game and 3rd through 6th grade will cheer at half time of the boys game. I am so proud of them. They got their grades back and Kylie had straight A's, Mollie had 3 A's and 2 B's. They work very hard on their school work. My grandma is having a cyst taken off her hand this morning. They do not expect any complications, in fact, the surgery will only take about 15 minutes. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I haven't asked for anything in a couple of years b/c Kyle doesn't really "do" holidays. But last night I did ask for a new watch. We will see what happens. He did say that when most people want something they go get it for themselves. He also said that it wouldn't mean as much b/c I told him what I want. Don't get me wrong I would love to have a big sparkling diamond or something like that but b/c we are just a 1 income family right now I went for something simple and reasonable. I guess if he doesn't get it for me, I will get it for myself. It just doesn't mean the same thing when I do it for myself. He doesn't want anything but I will try to think of something. I just got the girls a little teddy bear each that says "I love you" and makes a kissing noise. I also got each of them a singing card. Who knew those would be so popular??? They are expensive too!!! At $4.99 each, I guess my beautiful little girls are worth it. I stuck them in their school bags this morning so it would surprise them at school! I hope they are excited when they open it. Kylie lost another tooth that has been loose for about 3 months. She just doesn't like seeing the blood so I think that is why she doesn't wiggle them as much or try to pull them out and get it over with. Well, that is alot! Bye bye for now!!!!!!!! The wacky weather is over!

Finally, the wacky winter weather is over! I am so thankful that it is over. I had to stay in Tulsa from Monday night to Thursday. I finally tried to go home and made it on Thursday. I am happy it is over. By the time I was able to come home I was actually homesick. I never really knew what it meant to be homesick. I wanted to be home with my kids and husband. I did, unfortunately, find out that my goats died. All three of them. They were like family to me and I really loved them. To anyone who doesn't have animals, they think I am weird for grieving the loss. But for those who have animals, they understand what I am going through. Kyle knew I wanted them so bad that he got them for me for Mother's Day. I am fortunate enough to have had them for almost a year but oh well. Life does go on. I really don't think I will get more just yet though. I think they were either sick or just couldn't handle the weather. I am not sure. Today the snow is almost gone thank goodness!

IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad it is Friday! I am ready for this weekend! Tomorrow night, my best friend, Stephanie and I are going to a Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley and Darius Rucker concert!!!!!! I am happy! I just love that she thought of me when she bought the tickets! I am so lucky to have her in my life! She is always there when I need her! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!!

Finally getting better!

Okay so, today is my first day back at work since Wednesday. I came down with a bad case of strep throat. The doctor gave me two shots and a major antibiotic. So now that I am feeling better all is well with the world! I just had a great lunch that was healthy for my body and for my soul (thanks for the talk Jen!). I am really blessed to have two such great friends that I can cofide in when I need to blow (or when they need to). I know I have blessings all around me. I am very thankful that I am no longer sick. I am still trying to get my strength back but other than that it is all good. Yesterday Mollie and I went to the grocery store for "just Mommy and Mollie" time. I love those times with both girls. Next time will be Kylie's turn. Mollie is getting much older and is going to need "the talk" soon. I am not sure what to do about that. We just walked through Walmart then had lunch together at McDonald's. I can't believe she will be 10 this year. It seems like just yesterday... I love those girls so much! Kyle worked all weekend on our yard and cleaning up all the rocks and holes on the other side of our driveway. I am so proud of him for taking the initiative to make our house and land look better. I am really lucky! Kylie has two teeth coming in and the two that need to come out are being stubborn! She is afraid to let anyone pull them but loves when she gets the money from the tooth fairy...typical kid, I guess. Anyway, I have alot of catching up to do at work!!!!

Much Better!

I feel better. Not at 100% yet but I will get there. IT IS FRIDAY!!!! Even though I had a short week I am happy for it to be Friday. Tomorrow is grocery shopping day ;P Not really wanting to but if I have to I will drag my family with me!!!! That way, they suffer too:) Kyle started his second semester on Tuesday. He has been doing very well. I am proud of him! He got his grades back and he got 2 A's and 2 B's. I hope he continues with his grades that way and can graduate in 1 1/2 years with honors! I know he can do it!!!! I believe in him! Better go for now!

Feeling Crummy Is No Fun!

Okay so I went to the doctor today because I have been having back pain and a UTI. I got a prescription. I hope that helps! I was on vacation from Friday at noon until yesterday. It was nice to be off and be able to take the girls to school and pick them up. They had a lock down yesterday because a man shot at some police and a chase happened after that. Thank goodness the school locked down so nothing would happen. Anyway, we went to Missouri on Saturday. It was nice. I just wish my Dad and that side of the family lived closer so that we didn't have to go as far. I miss all of them terribly. The girls cherish them so much! We had a good time. We went shopping with them, out to eat and the girls got to practice swimming in the hotel pool (indoor of course). They had a blast but they didn't want to go back to school yesterday. I am glad they are getting older though, because it makes long drives alot easier! We got back safe and sound with no bad weather, I thank God for that! Well, that is all for now! Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!

The Slugs...

Okay so the title of this may be crazy but let me tell you a story... For some reason or another we have a leak under our kitchen sink that Kyle has decided not to fix yet. It has gradually gotten worse and now the floor is sinking, not just under the sink but around it too. A couple of nights ago Kyle went in the kitchen and stepped on a Slug. Now, you may be thinking, a slug in the kitchen??? But we live in the country so anything is possible! He was barefooted so I laughed and laughed because he was so grossed out! It was funny. Well, the slug oozed this greenish yellowish gunk out on the floor. This slug was not a little one at all. It had to be at least 3 inches long and 1 inch wide! But, where there are big slugs there are also little slugs! Yep, there were at least 6 other slugs too. They were varying sizes. Where in the world did they get in, that is what I was wondering! Well we think they came in via a hole or something. They like the wet, damp environment. I can just imagine it now, the slugs having a conversation..."okay guys, I am hungry, why don't we go into the Atwell kitchen and see what kind of snack we can get off the floor because ya know, Kyle is pretty messy when he cooks." So they come in to the kitchen and help me pay Kyle back for being messy! Ha Ha Ha! If only that had happened. Well, I got a little pay back for laughing at him! The slugs decided to pay me back for putting them in harms way! Kyle was on a hunting trip last weekend and on Sunday evening after the lights in the kitchen had been out for awhile (mind you slugs like the dark)...Yep, you guessed it...I stepped on a big fat one too!!! All I can say without throwing up is... YUCK!!!!!!!!!! It was gross! I actually had to wipe the floor up where the slug was because it left a greenish yellowish trail for me! Man, it is a good thing the girls and I are going away for a little trip. Kyle is now going to fix the floor and the leak while we are gone! Hopefully that is the last of the slugs........ And another part is that my girls know that slugs hate salt. They wanted to salt the slugs WHILE they were in the kitchen. Yep, I had to turn them down on that one!
